About Us

GIVE Group is a philanthropic social club for women in New York.

Each month we come together to support one nonprofit through a donation event, a volunteer opportunity, or both. Every event is a chance to give back and connect with the other women in the group.

How events work

Each invitation includes the date, the venue, the featured nonprofit, and how to reserve your spot. Spots are limited, so reserve early.

If you attend an event, we ask that you make a donation to the featured nonprofit. There’s no required amount: whatever feels right to you. We just ask that everyone gives.

All donations go straight to the featured charity through the official donation link. GIVE Group never collects, holds, or handles funds.

Volunteer opportunities

Every month we share multiple opportunities to volunteer alongside fellow members on behalf of GIVE Group. Members join whichever ones speak to them.

Meet Katharine

Katharine Day Newman, GIVE Group’s founder, in a polka-dot cape dress at the bar

Katharine Day Newman is an entrepreneur who moved to New York in 2015. She has always loved giving back, and helping people has long been at the heart of who she is.

In May 2026, Katharine founded GIVE Group, a philanthropic social club for women who want to make a difference. Philanthropy can often feel intimidating, as if it’s only for people with a family foundation or a seat on a gala committee, and she set out to change that. GIVE Group makes giving back simple and accessible. Each month, members come together to support a new charity and get easy access to volunteer opportunities that fit into busy lives.

GIVE Group is just as much about community. Katharine created it to bring together women from all different backgrounds and phases of life to connect, network and build real friendships. Members gather, they give, and they leave a little more connected than when they arrived.

The GIVE Group Standards

GIVE Group is a philanthropic social club. By joining us, you agree to the following:

  1. Come ready to give. Every gathering supports a featured charity. Members are expected to contribute each month they attend, at whatever level feels meaningful to them.
  2. Give directly. All donations go straight to the featured charity through the official donation link. GIVE Group never collects, holds, or handles funds.
  3. RSVP with intention. Seats are limited and planned with care. If your plans change, please cancel at least 48 hours in advance so another member can take your place. Tickets canceled less than 48 hours before a gathering are nonrefundable. Repeated no-shows may affect future invitations.
  4. Guests by invitation only. Plus-ones must be approved ahead of time. Every new face is welcome to apply for membership on their own.
  5. Dress the part. GIVE Group gatherings are elevated evenings, and we dress accordingly. Think chic, polished, and effortless: the kind of look you’d wear to a beautiful dinner in the city. When a gathering has a specific theme or dress code, it will be shared on the invitation.
  6. Respect the room. GIVE Group is a space for connection, not selling. Please leave business pitches, promotions, and solicitations at the door unless invited to share.
  7. Honor our partners. Our charity partners and speakers often share personal stories. Listen generously and keep sensitive details within the room.
  8. Volunteer with grace. When we volunteer together, we are guests of our nonprofit partners. Arrive on time, follow the direction of their staff, and dress for the work. Treat the people they serve with dignity and discretion: no photos or posts of clients, residents, or program participants without the organization’s explicit permission. If you sign up, show up, because partners plan around our numbers. How we show up reflects on GIVE Group and on every member who comes after us.
  9. Photos and content. Gatherings may be photographed and shared on GIVE Group channels. If you’d prefer not to appear, just let us know at check-in. When posting yourself, please tag @givegroupnyc and the month’s charity, and be mindful of other members who may prefer privacy.
  10. Drink responsibly. Enjoy yourself, and look out for one another.
  11. Membership is curated. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and acceptance is at GIVE Group’s discretion. Membership may be revisited if these standards aren’t upheld.

With gratitude,Katharine Day, Founder
